About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-S) and Board Approved Supervisor, with more than sixteen years of experience working with teens, young adults, adults, and families in inpatient and community settings.
My goal is to provide a calm and creative setting that nurtures the resilience everyone has inside them. I believe that levity can have a healing quality and can help even in the darkest of times, and that humor and warmth go a long way in building relationships with clients.
In my practice, I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution focused therapy as well as relational and strength-based approach when providing individual, group, and family therapy.
I studied Psychology and Sociology at Louisiana State University before getting my master’s degree in Social Work at The University of Texas-Austin. I am also a board approved supervisor which you can find out more about here.

JOLIE: For the past 9 years I have incorporated pet therapy in my practice with the help of my yellow lab, Jolie. Pet therapy has been shown to reduce stress, increase rapport and help clients become more cognizant of emotional reactions and support resiliency in individual and group sessions. Jolie is certified as a Canine Good Citizen and was a Pet Pal at Austin State Hospital. She loves coming to work and supporting clients. She is calm, kind and very loving but if you are allergic or prefer for her to not be part of your session we can discuss those options.
